Building Your Streetman Home: Installation and Insulation

Categories: Building Process | Tags: , , , , ,

new home framing constructionLast week we discussed the first couple of steps a homebuyer should expect when Streetman is building your Austin new home!  We spend a lot of time perfecting the foundation because, after all, upon that is where the rest of your home is built!

Next, we start to focus on the “dried in” side of things.  This involves the framing process, including exterior siding and detailing, putting up doors and windows and generally installing everything that makes up the outside of your home.  We make sure the roof materials are laid properly and that each works in harmony with the foundation.  At this point you’ll really be able to see what your Streetman Home will be come in just a matter of months.  This is a really exciting point in the building process for many new home buyers.

Once that’s been constructed, we start to install the interior essential features, including heating and air conditioning equipment, the rough plumbing, electrical wiring, air ducts, and exhaust vents.  You’ll also see us putting in the phone and cable wiring during this point of the building process.

Between installation and the wall insulation, your Streetman new home professional will contact you for your second buyer orientation.  Your Construction Superintendent will again walk around the home with you to ensure that everything is being built properly and correctly installed.  We will ask you to confirm that your design features (from any one of our Classic Collections) are what you want.  After all, this is your dream home, and we just want to make sure we’re doing it right by you!

At this point we begin insulating the walls.  This requires very specific work over several different stages, including sill sealant, both Dow and poly-cell in order to set a better barrier against air infiltration throughout your home.  We include energy efficient features including double pane Low-E2 high performance windows, “14 SEER Rheem high efficiency heating and air conditioning units” and much more.  These all contribute to significant energy savings for you throughout the life of your home.

Streetman Home owners have seen the difference, and we hope you will too!
